Crime Investigation Department (CID) of police on Sunday arrested seven accused involved in serious offences including targeted killing and extortion in separate raids from different areas of the metropolis.
According to SSP Fayyaz Khan, a CID team on a tip-off conducted raids in the limits of Korangi Industrial Area, Risala, and Jackson police stations and arrested seven suspects, who were allegedly involved in target killing, car lifting, extortion and other offences. He said the detained persons, who were workers of two different parties, confessed to have killed over a half dozen persons including five MQM men in separate incidents.
He said the suspects were identified as Hasan Ali son of Muhammad Abbad, Fahim Akbar son of Muhammad Akhbar, Muhammad Saleem son of Abdullah, Abdur Rauf alias Lamba son of Haji Adam Ali, Muhammad Danish son of Haroon, Azadi Khan son of Iqbal Khan and Syed Salik Siraj son of Sirajuddin.
Police recovered one KK, six pistols, bullets, 500kgs of Charas and two snatched cars. Further investigation was underway.
