Saeed Akhtar Khan and his panel won elections of Peshawar High Court Bar Association (Abbottabad bench). The elections were held on June 30 and the results were announced on Tuesday. Saeed Akhtar is also a member of the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) as well as of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council.
He introduced an independent group and defeated Hamid Khan group in the elections. As per the results, Saeed Akhtar bagged 376 votes for the office of president while Malik Manzoor Hussain of Hamid Khan group got 243 votes. Qazi Mohammad Kamran of Saeed Akhtar group has been elected as vice-president getting 356 votes against Mubashar Manzoor who bagged 264. Sardar Mudassar Liaqat has been elected general secretary who got 356 votes while Yasir Zahoor Abbasi obtained 266. Mohammad Shiraz is elected as joint secretary with 350 votes while Faisal Younis got 265 votes.
