Despite suspension: Professor Rani Shaikh continues as Director Colleges Karachi

Despite suspension by Chief Secretary Sindh, Regional Director (colleges) Karachi Professor Rani Ghani Shaikh is still occupying the office on the verbal order of Senior Minister for Education and Literacy Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq. Chief Secretary Raja Mohammad Abbas on the directives of Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah had suspended Professor Rani Ghani Shaikh a few days ago.
Sources in Education Department told Business Recorder that Services and General Administration department had issued a suspension letter of Professor Rani Ghani Shaikh on June 28, 2012 on the directives of Chief Secretary Sindh. The Chief Secretary had posted Professor Zakira Qazias Regional Director Colleges, Karachi, but Ms Qazi has not yet joined office due to the pressure of education minister, sources claimed.
An official of Education Department told Business Recorder that Professor Zakira Qazi has withdrawn her from the new assignment on the request of high level officials of the department. He claimed that the suspension order of Professor Rani Ghani Shaikh would also be withdrawn by the Chief Secretary, as Pir Mazhar is trying to convince chief minister in this regard.
