Punjab Minister for Agriculture Malik Ahmad Ali has stressed the need for resolving the issues being faced by the growers on priority basis. He said agriculture is the backbone of the national economy and prosperity of the farmers will lead to prosperity of the country.
The minister made these observations at an 'open court' (Khuli Kutcheri) arranged by the provincial agriculture department, says a spokesman here on Wednesday. Malik Ahmad Ali said that the Punjab government under the leadership of the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken many revolutionary steps for the prosperity of the growers. He said Punjab government is still striving to give maximum relief to the farmers in line with the prevailing price index and ensure growth of the agricultural sector consequently leading to the prosperity of the country.
