KMC Metro-politan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan has said that all the major storm water drains in the city would be cleaned by July 10. He said this while visiting storm water drains located in district east.
On this occasion, Director General Technical Services Altaf G Memon, Senior Director Municipal Services Shaukat Zaman, Municipal Commissioner East Shafique-ur-Rehman, Director Machinery Pool Noman Arshad, Deputy Commissioner East Agha Pervaiz, Chief Engineer Rain Sewers Ibrahim Baloch and other officers were present.
Metropolitan Commissioner during his over 3 hour long visit inspected the storm water drains in different areas including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Shah Faisal Colony, PECHS, Bhitaibad and Pehalwan Goth where he was informed all these drains were being cleaned by heavy machinery.
He directed to the crew to complete cleaning work properly to prevent citizens from any inconvenience. Metropolitan Commissioner while visiting chakor nullah in Shah Faisal Colony also directed to remove the garbage immediately as it was one of the important drains in the city. Metropolitan Commissioner while visiting Nursery nullah also instructed to remove curve stones for better water flow. While visiting in areas MC was also informed that the cleaning work through heavy machinery was going on fast track.-PR
