KARACHI: On Tuesday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 4,352.

The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 9.113 billion and the number of lots traded was 14,219.

Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 4.396 billion, followed by NSDQ 100 PKR 1.219 billion, currencies through COTS PKR 1.067 billion, crude oil PKR 654.737 million, silver PKR 619.541 million, DJ PKR 409.649 million, platinum PKR 397.039 million, SP500 PKR 255.122 million, natural gas PKR 64.773 million and copper PKR 28.936 million.

In agriculture commodities, 8 lot of wheat amounting to PKR 32.528 million, one lot of corn amounting to PKR 2.698 million and 4 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 2.049 million were traded.
