LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and Assembly Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi reaffirmed their commitment to serve the people of the province and said the journey of public service would be taken ahead with more speed.

During a meeting here on Saturday, Punjab CM and speaker said both the allies (PML-Q and PTI) will remain together and no one will be allowed to create hurdle in the mission of providing relief to the people.

Both discussed matters of mutual interest, political situation and projects of public welfare as well as matters concerning working relationship between the two parties.

Usman Buzdar said on the occasion that PML-Q is our ally and we are working together. The opposition has always tied to do point scoring at every critical juncture, including Covid-19.

Lauding the services of Ch Pervaiz Elahi for conducting the parliamentary proceedings of the House in an efficient manner, the CM said PA speaker set a new precedent by running the House in a smooth manner and his parliamentary services are commendable.

Ch Pervaiz Elahi said the Punjab government has presented a better and balanced budget despite a difficult economic situation. He also congratulated Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and his team for presenting a tax free budget. He said PML-Q is the ally of PTI and will remain so, the opposition put the projects of public welfare of his tenure at the stake of their ego.

Provincial Minister Muhammad Ajmal Cheema also called on Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and apprised him about the problems of his area.

The CM while assuring him the speedy solution of these problems, said respect of assembly members is my respect. The speed of development work in the constituencies of elected representatives will be further accelerated and no compromise will be made on the quality. He said public representatives should regularly monitor the development projects in their respective areas.

Later, provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights Sardar Mahindar Pal Singh met with CM and thanked him for taking personal interest in the solving the minorities' problems. He said exemplary steps have been taken by Punjab government under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar for the welfare of minorities. He maintained that government has won the hearts of minorities by allocating funds for the repair and renovation of the worship places of minorities. He thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar for the approval of budget for the construction of Baba Guru Nanak University in Nankana Sahib.

The CM said all possible resources will be provided for the welfare of the minorities of the province.
