KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar will present budget of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) for the fiscal year 2020-21 on Monday.
The council's budget session is summoned on Monday at 2:30 pm. As per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), in the wake of Covid-19, 30 percent members of government and opposition each will be allowed to attend the session. A total 118 members would be allowed to attend the sitting in hall of seating capacity of 300.
Meanwhile on directives of Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar, disinfection spray was done inside the hall as well as the KMC building. No guest would be allowed to witness the session and only representatives of print and electronic media would be permitted to cover the budget session.
The members would be provided facemask and sanitizers as well as their temperature would be checked from thermal gun. Akhtar would inform the house about development works carried out last year and issues being faced by local government.
