Sanchez all set for United return after failing loan extension with Inter
Alexis Sanchez is all set to return to Manchester United this week after failing to agree a loan extension with Inter Milan.
The Serie A giants want the striker to finish their corona-hit campaign with just 10 games left of the season.
Inter Milan are still in the Europa League which is set to commence once the league fixtures come to an end.
Despite the injury riddled campaign, Inter chief Beppa Marrotta was still hopping to keep the striker for another season. The club also aiming to land extensions for Victor Moses and Ivan Perisic.
He told Sky Sports: "This is a great regulatory anomaly that needs to be resolved because we are still dealing with Chelsea and Manchester United today to try to extend their loans.
“It is not a beautiful thing. We are also dealing with Bayern Munich over Ivan Perisic.”
It has been rumoured that the Red Devils doesn’t want the 31-year-old to represent Inter in the Europa League because they want to weaken their opponents.
If United miss out on the top four, then winning the Europa could be the only way of booking their spot in the Champions League next season.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is determined to off-load Sanchez permanently and get his staggering £505,000-a-week salary off the wage bill.
The Red Devils are already paying the majority of his salary while he plays at the San Siro.
