A massive reshuffle in the top bureaucracy at Federal level was made on Friday with a view to enhancing efficiency of various ministries. According to notifications, a grade 22 officer of District Management Group, Mohammad Ayub Qazi, has been appointed as Principal Secretary the Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf.
In another move, Secretary Information and Broadcasting Taimoor Azmat Usman has been transferred and posted as Secretary Establishment with immediate effect. Chaudhry Rashid Ahmad has been appointed as Acting Secretary Information and Broadcasting. Dr Waqar Masood, Secretary Economic Affairs Division has been transferred and assigned the job of Secretary Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources. Outgoing Secretary Mohammad Ijaz Chaudhry has been directed to report to Establishment Division for further posting.
Javed Iqbal‚ Secretary Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Division has been transferred and posted as Secretary Economic Affairs Division (EAD). He is being replaced with Kamran Qureshi who was recently promoted to grade 22. Imtiaz Inayat Elahi‚ Secretary Capital Administration Division has been transferred and posted as Acting Secretary National Regulations and Services. He has been replaced with Israr Rauf‚ Director General Special Initiatives Federal Board of Revenue as Acting Secretary Capital Administration Division.
A DMG officer Shafqat Hussain Naghmi, Secretary Food Security and Research has been asked to report to Establishment Division. Acting Secretary Board of Investment, Muneer Qureshi, has been transferred and posted as Acting Secretary Ministry of Commerce. Mahmood Alam, Secretary Federal Tax Ombudsman is also transferred and posted as Secretary Ministry of Climate Change. Major General Tawqeer (Retd) has been appointed as Managing Director PASSCO.
