Javed Ghani takes charge of FBR, replaces Nausheen Amjad
- Javed Ghani, a BS-22 officer of Pakistan Customs Services (PCS), presently posted as Member Federal Board of Revenue, has been assigned on the post for a period of three months, with immediate effect.
The federal government has assigned additional charge of the post of Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to Muhammad Javed Ghani, replacing Nausheen Amjad from the post.
In a notification issued on Saturday, Javed Ghani, a BS-22 officer of Pakistan Customs Services (PCS), presently posted as Member Federal Board of Revenue, has been assigned on the post for a period of three months, with immediate effect.
Earlier in April, Nausheen Amjad, BS-22 officer of Inland Revenue Service, was appointed as Chairman of FBR after then Chairperson Shabbar Zaidi could not continue his duties due to health conditions.
It may be mentioned here, that Syed Muhammad Shabbar Zaidi, chartered accountant, was appointed as chairman FBR for a period of two years. However, it was then reported that Shabbar Zaidi will not resume duty as the FBR chairman.
It may be recalled that while talking to journalists in Islamabad on May 6, 2019, Prime Minister Imran Khan had confirmed the appointment of Shabar Zaidi as Chairman FBR.
