HYDERABAD: The Divisional Commissioner (DC) Hyderabad Mohammed Abbas Baloch issued directives to the Wasa HDA authority to complete the desilting of main drains without delay and ensure that all the dewatering machines and other machines are functional.
Baloch directed the concerned officers to remain vigilant and negligence would not be tolerated. He directed the concerned officers to make contingency plans of their respective departments so that any untoward situation during the rains/flood as well as losses of human lives and properties could be minimised.
The Commissioner Hyderabad directed the Hesco officers to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity on pumping stations and pumping machines to continuously drain out the rain water. He also directed the officers of irrigation department to identify the sensitive points (if any) of embankments of river Indus and make them strong.
Meanwhile on the directives of Commissioner Hyderabad, The DC Hyderabad Fuad Ghaffar Soomro has established a District Rain/Flood Control Room with phone No. 022-9200570, 022-9200571 and Fax No. 022-9200245 at his camp office where complaints regarding rains/flood would be received and resolved accordingly.
