KARACHI: The cleaning process of nullahs has been accelerated in order to provide instant relief to citizens during expected monsoon rains.
These views were expressed by Local Government (LG) Secretary Roshan Ali Shaikh while he was briefing Local Government Minister Nasir Shah about the recent development of nullahs cleaning process.
"Dedicated teams have been deployed on the nullahs where they are working 24/7. Officials of KMC, DMC and Solid Waste are working together to clear all the possible choking points and sensitive areas. Slit transfer process is monitored on regular basis and no official is allowed to leave the site till the completion of said task."
Secretary LG also briefed the minister about the installations of dewatering machines and the working of rain emergency units.
LG secretary asserted the people to contact on the designated help line 1339 regarding any emergency.
