Karachi loadshedding: MQM-P threatens protest in front of Parliament House
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement - Pakistan (MQM-P) on Tuesday announced that its members of parliament and provincial assembly would protest in front of parliament house Islamabad if K-electric didn't mend its ways to provide uninterrupted supply of power to people of Karachi.
Addressing a press conference, Senior Deputy Convener of party Aamir Khan said that his party held many meetings with management of utility but it didn't yield any result to provide supply of power to city uninterruptedly. He regretted that party's appeal to federal government, Prime Minister and Energy Minister also remained futile. He said that Covid19 and extreme weather coupled with prolonged load shedding made the lives of people miserable in Karachi. Aamir said that even those areas are facing the load shedding, where recovery of K-electric against their bills is hundred percent. He said that people were burdened with hike in electricity charges when they are compelled to endure long hours of power outage.
He said that MQM-P has left with no option but to protest when the people of Karachi are facing hardships at the hands of power utility.
