ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court hearing multi-billion rupees fake bank accounts case on Tuesday again deferred indictment of former president Asif Ali Zardari, his sister Faryal Talpur, and other accused in the mega money laundering case till July 24.

Accountability Court Judge, Azam Khan, while hearing the case deferred the indictment of Zardari, Talpur and the other accused.

At the start of the hearing, Zardari and his sister's counsel, Farooq H Naek filed exemption application for his clients seeking one-day exemption from appearing before the court, which the court approved.

When the court asked about co-accused Zain Malik's plea bargain, the prosecutor told the court that the application of Mailk is still under process.

He further told the court that the process of plea bargain application was delayed due to the current situation of coronavirus.

The court directed the NAB to complete the process of plea bargain application till the next hearing to be held on July 24.

The NAB had nominated Zardari, Faryal Talpur, Hussain Lawai, Anwar Majid, Abdul Ghani Majeed, Taha Raza, Arif Khan, Muhammad Umair, Syed Hussain Faisal Shah Jamote, Azam Wazir Khan, Nimr Majid, Mustafa Z Majid, Ali Kemal Malik, M Younas Kudwavi, Zain Malik, Haji Haroon, Khawaja Muhammad Salman Younus, Pir Darvesh Khan, Imran Khan, Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Bilal Shaikh, in the supplementary reference.

In the interim reference, the NAB has a total of 30 accused including Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur, Hussain Lawai, Taha Raza, Anwar Majeed, Abdul Ghani Majeed, Noreen Sultan, Kiran Aman, Adeel Shah Rashidi, Muhammad Ashraf, Qasim Ali, Shahzad Ali, Sher Muhammad, Zain Malik, Iqbal Khan Noori, Nimr Majeed, Mustafa Zulqarnain, Aslam Masood, Muhammad Arif Khan, Nassar Abdullah, Adnan Javed, Muhammad Umair, Iqbal Arian, Azam Wazir Khan, Christopher D Craz, Muhammad Nasir Sheikh, Ghanzanfar Ahsan, Sawoodi Morkas, Muhammad Raheel Mobin, and Ali Kamal Majeed.

Meanwhile, the same court adjourned hearing of Pink Residency case till July 24th too.

The reference pertains to a project, "Pink Residency" in Karachi's Gulistan-e-Jauhar area. The accused had alleged involvement in illegal regularisation of two plots in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. One of the plots measured 23 acres of land, while the other was of seven acres.
