KARACHI: On Monday, upon market closing, Pakistan Rupee exhibited mixed behaviour. It lost value against USD in interbank market while remaining unchanged in open market. In open market it also exhibited mixed behaviour against other currencies.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee weakened by 50 paisas for buying and by 40 paisas for selling against USD over last Friday's rates closing at 166.60 and 166.80 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling against USD over last Friday's rates closing at 166.50 and 167 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR remained unchanged for buying while losing 50 paisas for selling closing at 186 and 188 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR lost 10 paisas for buying and 5 paisas for selling closing at 45 and 45.15 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling over last Friday's rates closing at 43.90 and 44.10 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee depreciated its worth versus major currencies including the US dollar and the British pound in the local currency market on Monday.
According to currency dealers, the short supply phenomenon of the dollar prevailed throughout the trading session which helped its appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 166.60 and Rs 168.00 against the Friday's closing rate of Rs 166.30 and Rs 167.60 respectively.
Similarly, the local currency also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 208.20 and Rs 209.90 against the previous closing trend of Rs 207.50 and Rs 209.00 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee recovered Rs 1 against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.
The dollar opened at Rs167(buying) and Rs 167.10(selling) against last rate of Rs168(buying) and Rs 168.10(selling).
It closed at Rs 167(buying) and Rs 167.10(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold remained Rs. 98,600(selling) and Rs 98,200(selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
