The IG Sindh has constituted a two-member committee to check the security matters of the Nato transporters in the province, said transporters here on Saturday. They said the IG has formed a committee which will meet periodically to assess the security issues of transporters across the province. The committee comprises of a DIG Sindh Police and a member from the transporters association.
The committee formation came into existence after Nato suppliers raised their concerns over the rising security threats to their vehicles and drivers. The fuel suppliers have been demanding of the government to provide its tankers with security shield against the militants' violent attacks across the country. The security demands intensified after the government announced to resume the halted fuel and goods transportation to the Nato across the western border.
