KARACHI: On Wednesday, upon market closing, Pakistan Rupee exhibited mixed behaviour. It gained value for selling against USD in interbank market while losing value for buying in open market. In open market it also exhibited mixed behaviour against other currencies.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, on market close, Pakistan Rupee remained unchanged for buying and gained 5 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 166.60 and 166.75 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market on market close, PKR lost 10 paisas for buying while remaining unchanged for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 166.70 and 167 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR lost one rupee for both buying and selling closing at 188 and 189.50 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR remained unchanged for buying and gained 5 paisas for selling closing at 44.90 and 45.10 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 5 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 43.85 and 44 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee showed strength as it recovered its day earlier losses versus the greenback and the British pound in the local currency market on Tuesday.
Following lack of buyers' interest in the market, the greenback remained under selling pressure throughout the trading session and ended lower for buying and selling at Rs 166.50 and Rs 167.70 against the overnight closing trend of Rs 166.60 and Rs 168.00 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Likewise, the national currency also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 207.28 and Rs 209.00 against the Monday's closing rate of Rs 208.20 and Rs 209.90 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee recovered 20 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.
The dollar opened at Rs167.30 (buying) and Rs 167.40 (selling) against last rate of Rs167.50 (buying) and Rs 167.60 (selling).
It closed at Rs167.30 (buying) and Rs 167.40 (selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs 112,700 (selling) and Rs 112,500 (selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
