Sindh, Balochistan extend lockdown
- Sindh has extended till August 15, whereas Balochistan has extended till July 30.
Sindh and Balochistan have extended smart lockdown in order to curb the spread of coronavirus.
In a notification by the Sindh Home Department on Thursday, it was announced that the Sindh government has extended the lockdown till August 15. The decision was taken after a meeting with the National Command and Operation Centre.
During the smart lockdown, pillion riding and all sorts of public transport, including the operation of ride-hailing services are suspended. Only one person per household can leave to buy food or medicine. Grocery stores and pharmacies are allowed to remain open.
Meanwhile, the Balochistan government has extended the lockdown till July 30. Educational institutions, cinemas, farmhouses, wedding halls, picnic points will remain closed. Restrictions on social, political and religious ceremonies are also banned.
