KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said 3,280 more Covid-19 patients recovered overnight raising the tally of the cured patients to 91,383 and 22 more patients died lifting the death toll to 1,974 while 880 new cases emerged out of 9,270 samples.
In a statement issued on Saturday from the CM House, he said the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients was increasing day-by-day which was evident from the recovery of 3,280 more patients overnight. He added that so far 91,383 patients have been recovered that constituted 82 percent recovery rate.
Murad Shah said 22 more patients died lifting the death toll to 1,974 that came to 1.7 percent death rate. He added that the death rate has to be brought down, therefore services in hospitals and Isolation centers have been improved.
The CM said 880 new cases of coronavirus emerged when 9,270 samples were tested overnight that constituted 9.5 percent detection rate. "This is a good news that our detection rate is going down day by day," he said and added so far 634871 tests have been conducted which diagnosed 112,118 cases that constituted overall 18 percent.
According to the chief minister, currently 18,761 patients are under treatment, of them 17938 are in home isolation, 79 at isolation centers and 744 at different hospitals. The condition of 526 patients is stated to be critical while 72 patients have been shifted to ventilators.
The CM said out of 880 new Covid-19 cases, 267 have been detected from Karachi, of them 80 cases from East, 59 South, 51 Central, 37 Malir, 31 West and nine Korangi. He added that Hyderabad has 67 cases, Khairpur 42, Sanghar 37, Sukkur 31, Shaheed Benazirabad 28, Mirpurkhas and Sujawal 22 each, Ghotki 21, Naushehroferoze 20, Badin 15, Kambar, Kasdhmore and Kashmore 13 each, Larkana 12, Shikarpur 11, Jacobabad, Matiari and Thatta seven each, Jamshoro and Tando Mohammad Khans ix each and Umerkot two cases.
The chief minister has urged people of Sindh to observe SOPs.
