LETTER: This is apropos a Business Recorder news item "10bn trees: PM urges people to help govt achieve target" carried by the newspaper yesterday. According to it, Prime Minister Imran Khan has said a green Pakistan guaranteed a prosperous future for coming generations and urged upon the nation to join hands in achieving the target of 10 billion trees to fight climate change and environment pollution.
The prime minister deserves praise for his consistent focus on tree plantation. His is a vastly different approach to climate than of his predecessors'. His efforts started to yield fruit following his party's (PTI's) success in KP following the 2013 general elections. The tree-plantation initiative was extended to other provinces following PTI's success in the 2018 general elections in the country. The nation must lend a helping hand to him to achieve the target of 10 billion trees.
