Suites in Parliament Lodges: Appointment of consultant for construction by August 5
ISLAMABAD: Senate House Committee in its meeting on Tuesday was told that the appointment of consultant for construction of 104 family suites of senators in the Parliament Lodges will be completed by August 5, and update on the matter will be shared with the Committee.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman Senate Saleem Mandviwalla here at the Parliament House. The committee directed the CDA to complete all remaining formalities in this time frame, so that once the consultant is finalised, work can be expedited.
The CDA was asked to share details of project work with the Planning Commission, so that the process of release of necessary funds was also initiated. It was also directed that time extensions, if required, of any phase of project, may also be sought from the relevant authority. The Committee also discussed compliance of previous recommendations given by the Committee. Matters of release of budget for lodges, dilapidated condition of some suites, and u-plan of 83 suites in use of senators were also discussed.
