SUNDAY JULY 08: RPP probe: Prime Minister can be asked to appear before inquiry team
ISLAMABAD: According to National Accountability Bureau (NAB), an inquiry about Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf's role in Rental Power Projects (RPPs) is under way and he can also be summoned to appear before the Bureau. Addressing a press conference, NAB Spokesperson Hafiz Mohammad Irfan said the name of Raja Pervez Ashraf was sent to interior ministry to put it on Exit Control List (ECL) in the RPPs case when he was a Federal Minister.
However only Interior Ministry can explain whether or not his name had been put on the ECL. He further said that it was on the record that Raja Pervez Ashraf had said that whenever he would be required to cooperate in the RPP inquiry, he would personally appear before the NAB. Therefore, he said if the NAB found his presence necessary in RPP inquiry, he would be asked to appear before NAB.
