Pakistan People's Party-Sherpao (PPP-S) in a meeting of its Central Executive Committee asked the government to tell the nation what it had achieved by reopening the Nato supply routes. The meeting, held here on Sunday with its Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao in the chair, decided to take the issue on floor of the national assembly in forthcoming session.
The meeting said that the provincial government, on the one hand, was expressing helplessness to provide security Central Jail Peshawar, while on the other it had promised of making foolproof security arrangements for Nato supplies.
"The government must also tell the nation clearly if the decision has been taken on the basis of the resolution passed by the National Assembly," the meeting asked.
It expressed fears that law-and-order situation might exacerbate with the reopening of routes and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, its people would bear the brunt.
"If the routes were to be opened then why was it delayed for seven months," it asked the government.
The meeting also decided unanimously to oppose the proposed dual nationality bill and amendments to contempt of court laws.
The meeting also reviewed the overall political and economic situation of the country and decided to force the government to take steps for controlling the prevailing crises, especially the power outages that has crippled routine life across the country.
The meeting expressed full confidence over the leadership of PPP-S Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao.
