ISLAMABA: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz on Thursday said that it was unprecedented in the world that Indian rulers had deprived the people of occupied Kashmir of their fundamental human rights. He said this at a Mehfil-e-Mushaira at Pakistan Broadcasting House while expressing solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir.

He appreciated the role of Radio Pakistan, which is raising the voice of Kashmiris against Indian military oppression, when there is a complete shutdown of media in the occupied Kashmir.

The minister said Radio Pakistan had been standing with the Kashmiris in their struggle for achieving freedom. He lauded Radio Pakistan for encouraging and commending the determination, valiance, and resilience of the people of occupied Kashmir against unlawful and inhuman oppression being committed by the Indian forces. The minister said India could not suppress the freedom movement of Kashmiris by illegally scrapping Article 370 and 35-A of the Indian Constitution. He said India could neither frighten Kashmiris by detaining Hurriyat leaders nor mislead the international community by staging Pulwama-like incidents.

He said India had become isolated at the international level on the Kashmir issue due to effectively highlighting this matter by the present government at the diplomatic front. Addressing the ceremony, Federal Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Akbar Hussain Durrani said that the entire nation was united over the Kashmir issue.

He urged the international community to play its due role in putting an end to the sufferings of the innocent Kashmiri people. Speaking on the occasion, Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, Ambreen Jan said Radio Pakistan was effectively challenging the false Indian propaganda and promoting a peaceful narrative.

She said India wanted to destroy peace of the region. She said Radio Pakistan would continue to expose the nefarious Indian designs. On his part, senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Abdul Hameed Lone paid rich tribute to Radio Pakistan over internationally highlighting the Kashmir issue in an effective manner.
