Govt to roll put discounted airfares, pension scheme for Overseas Pakistanis

In order to facilitate Pakistani expatriates the government has decided to launch a number of incentives for the community.
The incentives range from cheaper airfares to easing the process of sending remittance and investment through digitization for Overseas Pakistanis, said Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari, Special Assistant to Pakistan's Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis, quoted Khaleej Times.
The SAPM informed that the latest incentives will be launched in the next two months. Bukhari informed that the government will also launch a pension scheme for overseas Pakistani, alongside expanding the Employees' Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) by bringing in informal workers like laborers, drivers, cooks and other domestic workers into the scheme, which will provide them the opportunity to contribute towards their pension.
Talking about government measures, Bukhari said that in the past 18 months the government has increased pension under the EOBI from Rs5,250 to Rs8,500 and plans to increase it up to Rs15,000, by the end of the their term.
