KARACHI: On Tuesday, Pakistan Rupee fell against USD in both interbank and open markets. In the open market, its largest loss was against Euro among the currencies typically covered in this report.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee had lost 50 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over last Thursday's rates closing at 167.60 and 167.80 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR had lost 65 paisas for buying and 85 paisas for selling against USD over last Thursday's rates closing at 167.80 and 168.20 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR had lost 2.50 rupees for both buying and selling over last Thursday's rates closing at 196 and 197.50 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR had lost 10 paisas for buying and 20 paisas for selling closing at 45.20 and 45.50 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR had lost 20 paisas for buying and 30 paisas for selling closing at 44.20 and 44.40 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee depreciated its worth versus major currencies including the greenback and the British pound in the local currency market on Tuesday.

The short supply phenomenon of the greenback prevailed throughout the trading session which helped its appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 167.50 and Rs 168.60 against the previous closing rates of Rs 167.00 and Rs168.20 respectively, local currency dealers said.

Likewise, the national currency also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 216.50 and Rs 218.00 against the last week's closing trend of Rs 214.00 and Rs 215.70 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 30 paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Tuesday.

The dollar opened Rs167.80(buying) and Rs 167.90(selling) against last rate of Rs167.50(buying) and Rs 167.60(selling).

It closed at Rs167.80(buying) and Rs 167.90(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 123,400(selling) and Rs 123,250(selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
