ISLAMABAD: The Private Schools and Madrassas Alliance (PSMA) has threatened a nationwide protest, if private educational institutes are not allowed to reopen on August 15, saying that like others, the education sector should be reopened to alleviate their problems.

A consultative meeting of the Private Schools and Madrassas Alliance was held under the chairmanship of Inamuddin Qureshi. Representatives of various associations and organisations of private schools and madrassas participated and presented their views on the future course of action of educational institutes in the current situation.

The meeting of All Pakistan Private Schools and Madrassas Alliance was attended by representatives of various associations and organisations including Inamuddin Qureshi, Abdul Shakoor Chishti, Mohammad Jameel Abbasi, Engineer Khidr Satti, Abrar Ahmed Advocate, Raja Noman Qamar, and Hafiz Mohammad Basharat, President Private Educational Society, while Mahmood Ayaz Chaudhry and others were also present.

They stated that educational institutes were facing numerous challenges and were on the brink to shut down. They demanded that no legislation regarding private schools be passed without taking the representative leadership of the sector on board.
