KARACHI: On Friday, upon market closing, Pakistan Rupee reversed the negative trend of last 2 days and gained value against USD in interbank market. It also reversed the trend in open market and gained value against USD and Euro.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 35 paisas for buying and 40 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 167.80 and 167.90 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 30 paisas for buying and 20 paisas for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 168 and 168.40 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR gained 50 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 198 and 199.50 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR remained unchanged with respect to yesterday's rates closing at 45.50 and 45.70 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 10 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 44.30 and 44.50 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee stayed unchanged on the buying side while it appreciated its worth on the selling side in relation to the greenback in the local currency market on Friday.
According to currency dealers, the greenback did not witness any change in its demand side as it firmly closed at its opening rate for buying at Rs 168.30 whereas it lost 30 paisas for selling and ended at Rs 169.50 against the overnight closing trend of Rs 169.80.
Moreover, the rupee showed strength as it slightly recovered its day earlier losses versus the pound sterling. Consequently, the pound's buying and selling rates declined from Thursday's closing of Rs 219.60 and Rs 220.90 to Rs 218.70 and Rs 220.50 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee recovered 20 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Friday.
The dollar opened at Rs168.50 (buying) and Rs 168.60(selling) against last rate of Rs168.70(buying) and Rs 168.80(selling).
It closed at Rs168.50 (buying) and Rs 168.60(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold increased to Rs. 127,500(selling) and Rs 127,200(selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
