KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday said that 303 new cases of Coronavirus have surfaced while 10 more patients died of the global pandemic during the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 2,272 in the province.
In a statement, the CM said around 8,288 samples were tested, of them 303 Covid-19 positive cases were detected.
As many as 826,258 samples have so far been tested in the province, of them 123,849 Covid-19 positive cases have been detected.
He said 326 patients have recovered over the night, raising the number of recovered patients to 115,741.
CM said some 5,836 patients are currently under treatment, of them 5,460 are at their homes, 6 are in isolation centres, while 370 are admitted at different hospitals.
He said 206 patients are stated to be in critical condition, out of them 45 are on ventilators.
He said that out of 303 new cases, 103 are from Karachi. 32 have been reported from district East, 32 from district Korangi, 19 from district South, 12 from district Central, 9 from Malir district and 8 from district West. Khairpur 22, Sukkur 17, Dadu 14, Umerkot 14, Badin 13, Jamshoro 12, Sanghar 12, Shikarpur 11, Tando Muhammad Khan 9, Ghotki 8, Nowshero Feroze 8, Larkana 6, Shaheed Benazirabad 6, Mirpur Khas 4, Tando Allah Yar 3 and 2 new cases from Thatta have been reported.
