ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has postponed his media briefing twice in 24 hours, which led to speculations following his criticism over the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The press conference, which was originally scheduled for Tuesday at 1700 hours, got postponed for Wednesday at 1200 hours.

However, through a message, the Foreign Office stated that the Wednesday's press conference has also been postponed, and the new date and time will be conveyed once finalised.

This led to speculation on the social media linking the twice postponement with Foreign Minister Qureshi's recent criticism over the Jeddah-based OIC for not responding to Pakistan's request to convene a special session of its Council of Foreign Ministers' over Kashmir.

The Foreign Office, however, clarified the situations later, saying, "the press briefing by the foreign minister had to be rescheduled both the times due to Parliamentary business." "The planned press briefing will be rescheduled. We must refrain from speculation, please," it stated in a message.
