PESHAWAR: Chief of his own faction of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, on Saturday said that his party was not against the holding of All Parties Conference (APC), as they are still establishing contacts, saying that if the movement was run by a united opposition, it would be easier to get public trust.

The party leader said that movements can only become successful with support of opposition. He said his party wants to see a united opposition so we can't solely launch a movement.

The objective is to get out of confusion and place a clear plan before the nation, Fazl said while talking to media persons here.

He added: "We want single-mindedness for which we want to get public trust."

The nation is celebrating Independence Day, while on the other hand, freedom was opposed in parliament and the nation was made slave by legislations, he said without mentioning the passage of bill regarding Financial Action Task Force (FATF). He added that major political parties needed to oppose such legislation.

Fazlur Rehman alleged that "the seller of Kashmir" was also "selling the national dignity and repute". We had clearly stated that the present government was working on an external agenda, he alleged.

Commenting on the recent Israel-UAE agreement, JUI-F chief said that some powerless Muslim countries were pressured to strike a deal with Israel. He said the UAE was a small part or island, "which has international status as a puppet".

Furthermore, he said the UAE decisions can't be called as "voice of the whole Muslim Ummah".

However, he emphasized that the Ummah should take firm stance and decision in this regard.

Whether it is the liberation of Kashmir or Palestine, we will support the struggle and movement for freedom from illegal occupation, Fazl said.

Meanwhile, ANP leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain told the media that his party wanted re-election in the country. He said the parliament and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) have lost their positions.
