KARACHI: Hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country in the next 24 hours, the Met Office said on Saturday.
However, rain-wind-thundershowers are expected in Islamabad, upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, southeastern Sindh and Kashmir over the period.
"Monsoon currents are penetrating in upper parts and extreme lower parts of the country. A Westerly wave is also present over the upper parts of the country," the Met added.
In the past 24 hours, hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of the country. However, rain-thundershowers occurred in Takht Bhai, Balakot, Dir, DI Khan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Takht Bhai received a maximum of the rainfall as 89 mm, Islamabad (ZP 35, Saidpur 26), Bhakkar 18 and Balakot 7. Dalbandin and Nokkundi scored by 46 degrees Celsius, each, Chilas 44, Dadu, Mohenjodaro and Sibbi 43, each.
