ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary Information, Marriyum Aurangzeb, has declared the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government's two-year performance as appallingly disappointing and worst in the country's history.

Reacting to the PTI government's two-year performance report unveiled here Tuesday, she expressed commiserations and solidarity with the people of Pakistan for facing an "unbearable" two years.

"These two years are the remarkable tale of an unremarkable Imran Khan. Every single Imran's promise turned out to be farce and these two years blew the lid off his much touted ability and competence, which turned out to be lies," she said.

Aurangzeb said: "Every promise broken, every reform ditched, every crisis mismanaged, and every commitment unfulfilled".

She said that the PTI's two years was a never-ending story of disappointments and failures.

"The selected prime minister and his government's incompetence, corruption and inability to govern have been exposed in the shortest possible time," the PML-N leader said.

She said that Pakistan had to face the worst, at all fronts, from occupied Kashmir to foreign policy in general, to economic disasters and governance blunders under this nightmare of a government.

"The county has been ruled by the "Imran-led mafia" government that serves and encourages other mafias to join the looting spree with the assurance of being later exonerated by an eyewash commission," Aurangzeb maintained.

Summarising the PTI's two years in the power, she said that the economy plummeted from 5.8 to 0.4 GDP; two million lost their jobs, while eight million got pushed below the poverty line, policy rate to 2.13, while industry and businesses were destroyed; general inflation rocketed to 12 percent, while food inflation shot to 15 percent.

She said that sugar went from Rs52 to Rs105, flour from Rs35 to Rs75; prices of medicine were raised by a staggering 300 percent; national currency saw unprecedented historic devaluation; the tariffs of electricity and gas were raised to a point of unaffordable high for majority of Pakistanis.

"The two years of Imran's government were the darkest for freedom of speech, of the press and constitutional liberties. The freedom of judiciary, constitutional and democratic obligations, conventions and practices were razed to the ground, while supremacy of Parliament took a brutal hit," she maintained.
