LAHORE: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser said on Wednesday that all political parties should play their due role in dealing with challenges Pakistan was facing today.
"It is our collective responsibility to counter evil designs of enemies of Pakistan," Asad Qaiser said while talking to Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, here at Governor's House.
During the meeting, country's political situation, affairs of the Punjab government and other important issues came under discussion.
The Governor said the opposition should support legislation that is in the country's interest. He said the government believes in strengthening of all institutions including the Parliament; as strong institutions will lead to progress and development of Pakistan. Pakistan's global image is improving and the opposition should support legislation that is in the interest of Pakistanis, he said, adding: "Pakistan is moving forward on the road of development."
During a meeting with the Provincial Information Minister, the governor said the government has successfully completed two years and will complete its term. "No one can point fingers at the honesty of our Prime Minister Imran Khan, those who are trying to spread unrest in the country will only fail miserably," he said.
For the first time in country's history, Pakistan is improving on many fronts including the economy, he said, adding: "Our government is taking practical steps to provide relief to the weaker sections of society; our policies are successfully yielding results in overcoming various challenges Pakistan is facing today."
He further said that Pakistan is being recognized globally on diplomatic and economic fronts. Moody's and Fitch have affirmed Pakistan's rating as stable.
Fayyazul Hassan Chohan said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is the only leader who can steer Pakistan out of crises. He said the PTI government has saved Pakistan from bankruptcy with strategic economic policies.
