KARACHI: On Friday, after market close, Rupee recorded a gain against USD in interbank market while recording a fall for selling rate in open market. It also recorded a gain against Euro in open market.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Rupee gained 5 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 168.25 and 168.35 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR remained unchanged for buying while losing 20 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 168.30 and 168.80 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR gained 1.50 rupees for buying and 50 paisas for selling closing at 197 and 199 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR remained unchanged for buying while gaining 10 paisas for selling closing at 45.60 and 45.80 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 5 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling closing at 44.50 and 44.70 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee witnessed divergent trend in the process of trading against the American dollar in the local currency market on Friday.
Following fluctuating demand and supply situation in the market, the dollar observed volatile trend as it moved both ways and closed for buying and selling at Rs 168.20 and Rs 169.50 against the overnight closing rate of Rs 168.25 and Rs 169.30 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Moreover, the rupee failed to hold its day earlier recoveries and depreciated its worth versus the pound sterling. Consequently, the pound's buying and selling rates rose from the Thursday's closing of Rs 219.50 and Rs 221.00 to Rs 220.80 and Rs 222.50 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained10 paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Friday.
The dollar opened at Rs168.70 (buying) and Rs 168.80(selling) against last rate of Rs168.60 (buying) and Rs 168.70(selling).
It closed at Rs168.70 (buying) and Rs 168.80(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 122,700(selling) and Rs122,500 (buying) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
