The Lahore High Court Chief Justice on Tuesday directed Principal National College of Arts (NCA) to appear before the court along with its editorial board's members in a petition demanding action against them for publishing paintings/features 'encouraging' homosexuality and ridiculing Islamic values in its annual journal.
The Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial summoned the NCA principal and its editorial board members on August 16. A citizen Abad Ali submitted in his petition that the college principal and members of its administration were liable to be prosecuted for disgracing Holy Quran, and ridiculing the religion of Islam. He prayed to the court to take stern legal action against the respondents and also impose ban on publication of NCA journal "Sohbat".
