Pakistan Industrial and Traders Association Front (PIAF) has expressed concern over the warning of SNGPL of serious gas shortage in the forthcoming winter and demanded of the government to take measures on war footing to avoid any serious crisis in near future.
The PIAF Chairman Sohail Lashari in a statement on Tuesday feared that gas shortage would destabilise the industrial sector while unemployment would also be increased if government fails to ensure supply of gas to industries in the coming winter.
He said the government should release immediate funds for Thar Coal project that could generate sufficient electricity and gas for the industry. He also demanded of the government to accelerate work on the Pak Iran Gas Pipeline project that could also fulfil the domestic needs.
