ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Spokesperson, Marriyum Aurangzeb, has said that the Punjab government and the provincial health minister, Yasmin Rashid, gave permission to former prime minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif to travel abroad. The PML-N spokesperson on Sunday said in her statement that "rented" spokespersons should better concentrate on resolving the issues of the general masses instead of tweeting on Nawaz Sharif matter.
She further asked about the return of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen, "who is involved in sugar theft". "When will the government give one crore jobs to unemployed people and five million houses to the homeless?" Marriyum Aurangzeb asked.
She said that the national development had decreased to 0.4 ratio from 5.8 in PTI tenure. The price of sugar has reached Rs110 from Rs52 per kilogram and flour is being sold at Rs78 from Rs33 per kilogram, she stated. Responding to Marriyum Aurangzeb's statement, provincial health minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said that Nawaz Sharif was allowed to travel abroad on humanitarian grounds.
She said, while talking to a private TV channel that the PML-N leadership submitted old medical reports of Nawaz Sharif in the court six weeks after he had arrived in London for treatment. Nawaz's personal doctor has not forwarded latest medical reports of the former premier so far, she added.
Dr Yasmin further said that the cabinet had directed the PML-N supremo to fly back to Pakistan over presenting incomplete medical reports. Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry also assailed leaders of the PML-N for holding the government responsible for allowing former premier Nawaz Sharif to travel abroad for treatment.
In his tweet on Sunday, he said the PML-N leaders and their supporters in media used to say day and night how critically ill Nawaz Sharif was, and if he was not let go abroad his life would be in peril. Since yesterday, these people have been saying that it was the government that had sent Sharif abroad and ask how could they ask him to fly back home. This is the deceit and fib on the basis of which the PML-N was formed, he added.
