KARACHI: On Monday, after market close, Pakistan Rupee generally recorded fall in value. It went up against USD in interbank market for buying while falling for the selling. In the open market, it fell against major currencies that are typically covered in this report.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 5 paisas for buying while losing 5 paisas for selling against USD over last Friday's rates closing at 168.20 and 168.40 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR lost 20 paisas for buying while remaining unchanged for selling against USD over last Friday's rates closing at 168.50 and 168.80 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR lost 1.50 rupees for buying and one rupee for selling closing at 198.50 and 200 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR lost 5 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 45.65 and 45.85 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 10 paisas for buying and 20 paisas for selling closing at 44.60 and 44.90 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee depreciated its worth in the process of trading against the greenback in the local currency market on Monday.
The short supply phenomenon of the greenback prevailed throughout the trading session which helped its appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 168.30 and Rs 169.50 against the Saturday's closing trend of Rs 168.20 and Rs 168.70 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Moreover, the national currency witnessed divergent trend as it moved both ways in relation to the pound sterling. As the close, the pound was bought and sold at Rs 219.00 and Rs 220.70 against the previous closing rate of Rs 219.30 and Rs 221.50 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 20 paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.
The dollar opened at Rs169 (buying) and Rs 169.10 (selling) against last rate of Rs168.80 (buying) and Rs 168.90 (selling).
It closed at Rs169 (buying) and Rs 169.10 (selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs 123,000 (selling) and Rs122,900 (buying) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
