LAHORE: Amid threats of another wave of Covid-19 pandemic, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Zulfiqar Hameed has disclosed that a total of 460 personnel of the Lahore police were affected by the virus but now no official is tested positive or suffering from this virus.

"So far, there is no corona positive case in Lahore police," the CCPO said in a statement on Tuesday. Out of the total, 456 officers who defeated the corona epidemic and resumed their duties but four officers sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, he added.

According to Zulfiqar, four SPs, 14 DSPs, 15 inspectors, 34 sub-inspectors, 46 traffic wardens, 34 assistant sub-inspectors, 55 head constables, 219 constables and SSP Admin Liaqat Ali Malik and SSP Operations Faisal Shehzad were earlier affected by the virus.

"Out of all the security departments, the Lahore police was among the most affected department. However, we played the role of frontline soldier during the pandemic," he said and warned the masses to not stop following corona SOPs as there is a treat of another wave of the virus.
