KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) on Tuesday appealed to business community of Karachi to help people affected by torrential rains in metropolis.
MQM-P convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui contacted businessman Aqeel Karim Dhedi and other members of Pakistan Stock Exchange and representatives of chamber of commerce, and sought their help for affectees of rains in Karachi.
Representatives of business community assured to help the people affected by rains in Karachi, a statement of party said and added that party convener expressed his gratitude to the business community for responding to his appeal.
MQM-P stated that party has also made arrangements for providing the food items to people of those areas which have been badly affected by rains. Food is being distributed in Surjani Town, FB Area and adjacent areas by the workers of party, MQM-P said adding that its welfare wing is carrying out the activities in entire city.
