Eyeing business boom, govt urges youth to apply for Kamyab Jawan loan

In order to boost up business activities among the youth, the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Muhammad Usman Dar has urged the youth to apply for a loan under Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme.

Under the scheme which is an initiative launched under the umbrella of Prime Minister Kamyab Jawan Programme, the government under an ambitious plan has allocated hundred billion rupees to give loans to youth having the requisite business plans and skills.

Dar said the scheme has huge potential to enhance business activities in the country and create employment opportunities as well.

Dar added that 25 percent share of the loans is reserved for women entrepreneurs. Just days ago, Prime Minister's Adviser on Finance Hafeez Sheikh announced that the government has decided to enhance the scope of Kamyab Jawan Program by increasing the maximum limit of loan from Rs5 million to Rs25 million.

Sheikh said the interest rates on all types of loans under the Kamyab Jawan Program have been reduced to half. He maintained the government is making all efforts to provide subsidies to the people and creating more opportunities for establishing their businesses.

So far 56, 812 online applications, from across Pakistan, have been received to partner banks through www.KamyabJawan.gov.pk.
