Spillways have been opened in Mangla and Rawal dams after increasing water capacity amid fresh spell of rain.

As per details, the water level in Mangla Dam has reached 1241.30 feet while the storage capacity is 1242 feet. The spillways of Rawal Dam have been reopened due to intermittent rains in the federal capital.

The weather has turned cold due to rains in different parts of Azad Kashmir. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains with strong winds and thundershowers in Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan for the next two days.

Heavy rains are also expected in some places in Upper Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir while flood warnings were issued in rivers and streams.
