KARACHI: On Monday, Pakistan Rupee gained value against USD in both interbank and open markets over last Wednesday's rates. It also gained value in open market against AED, SR and Euro.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 2.55 rupees for buying and 2.45 rupees for selling against USD over last Wednesday's rates closing at 165.80 and 166 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 2.70 rupees for buying and 2.00 rupees for selling against USD over last Wednesday's rates closing at 166 and 167 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR gained one rupee for buying and 50 paisas for selling closing at 197.50 and 199 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR gained 60 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 45.10 and 45.30 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 65 paisas for buying and 60 paisas for selling closing at 43.90 and 44.10 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee appreciated its worth on the buying side while it stayed unchanged on the selling side in relation to the greenback in the local currency market on Monday.
According to currency dealers, the greenback lost 30 paisas and ended for buying at Rs 166.50 against the previous closing rate of Rs 166.80 whereas it did not observe any change for selling and closed at Rs 168.00.
Furthermore, the local currency failed to sustain as it depreciated its worth against the pound sterling. At close of trading, the pound's buying and selling rates rose from the last Friday's closing trend of Rs 219.50 and Rs 221.00 to Rs 220.00 and Rs 221.80 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee gained 90 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.
The dollar opened at Rs 168(buying) and Rs 168.10(selling) against last rate of Rs 168.90(buying) and Rs 169(selling).
It closed at Rs 168(buying) and Rs 168.10(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 123,000(selling) and Rs 122,900 (buying) in the local sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
