HYDERABAD: SU's VC Prof Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat has said the idea of establishment of urban forest at SU has been the result of extraordinary vision of Chairman Pakistan Peoples Part Bilawal Bhutto Zardari cascaded by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and Sindh Agriculture Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.
He said all three PPP leaders being men of international stature and exposure were well-acquainted with the innovative concept of putting vacant urban spaces to use by converting them into urban forests; thus contributing to creating conducive and environment-friendly atmosphere.
Dr Burfat added that SU was both glad and proud to take lead in that respect. "I am highly grateful to Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and Sindh Agriculture Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah for their constant support and encouragement to this effect and for their entire earlier scaffold," the VC said.
On the occasion, SU Director Plantation Dr Nabila Shah Jilani briefed the Vice Chancellor about the stages of installation of drips system. SU Registrar Dr Ameer Ali Abro and Director STAGS Dr Sumera Umrani were also present on the occasion.
