LAHROE: Terming the republishing the blasphemous caricatures by the French weekly magazine Charlie Hebdo a disgusting and shameless act, Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Senator Siraj ul Haq has demanded of the Pakistani government to call the OIC meeting to formulate a joint strategy of the Muslim world to stop these satanic acts on permanent basis.

Presiding over a meeting of party leaders at Mansoora on Wednesday, he also asked the government to take the matter to the UNO to devise a universal agreement on the respect of all religions.

"It is fascism. Millions of Muslims could no more tolerate these blasphemous acts by the supremacist mindset. It aims at destroying the peace of the world." Siraj ul Haq also expressed anger over the act of French President Emmanuel Macron who refused to condemn the publication of caricatures. He said the follower of Islam loved the Holy Prophet (PBUH) more than their own lives and the French president badly hurt their feelings by refusing to utter a word against the Charlie Hebdo.

He said Muslim world considered the silence of the UNO, USA and West leaders on the issue as their backing to the magazine's sickening and unashamed act.

The JI leader also demanded of the strict action against those who committed blasphemy against the family members and companions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the country during past weeks.

He said some elements were bent upon damaging the ideological identity of Pakistan to accomplish their secular agendas. He said religious scholars must recognize the black sheep in their ranks if there was any and make efforts to keep the religious harmony intact in the country.

The meeting expressed regret over the loss of human lives and properties in the rains and flooding and demanding of the government take immediate measure to provide relief to the rains hit masses.

Meanwhile, JI Deputy Emir Liaqat Baloch said that enemies of Pakistan were bent upon damaging its ideological and physical boundaries but the government and opposition parties are least concerned about the danger and engaged in mutual wrestling on non-issues. In a statement issued from Mansoora on Wednesday, he expressed regret over damages in monsoon rains asking the rulers to take measure to provide relief to the victims of natural disaster. He said the rains and flash flooding also exposed the government abilities to mitigate the emergency situation. He held the federal, provincial and city governments responsible for the plight of the people of Karachi.
