LETTER: It is a matter of great satisfaction for every Karachi resident that prime minister Imran Khan will himself unveil the federal government's strategy in relation to myriad Karachi issues as soon as he arrives in Sindh's capital. It is widely reported by media that the federal government has identified all the "diseases" that ail this city of teeming millions. But it's not sufficient. Given the Centre-province mutual hostility I'm quite skeptical about the success of federal government's plan, however noble and praiseworthy. Both Centre and province need to make it clear that they care for Karachi and its people. Both the governments must ensure that all impediments to the remedial measures taken in this regard are removed without any loss of time. In this regard, I also thank army chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa for showing a strong resolve to help solve Karachi's water, drainage and other issues. It is expected that Karachi will be having a state of art civic infrastructure in near future.
