Australian iron ore producer eager to invest in Pakistan’s renewable energy sector

Fortescue Metals Group Ltd, the Australian iron ore company has expressed keen interest to invest in the renewable energy sector and green industry in Pakistan.

Forrest expressed the hope that the investment by the Fortescue Group, one of the world’s largest metals company will result in the creation of employment opportunities for the local community and will also lea to the introduction of new technology solutions for a host of industries.
The Prime Minister appreciated the interest of Fortescue Group in Pakistan and assured to provide all possible facilitation in undertaking business ventures in the country.
The premier highlighted the economic recovery of Pakistan in the aftermath of COVID-19 pandemic and the investment friendly policies being pursued by the present government. PM Khan said that his government's strategy to contain the spread of the virus through smart lockdowns and simultaneously reaching out to the millions of poor through government's flagship Ehsaas Program.
Andrew Forrest appreciated the strategy adopted by the Government of Pakistan in dealing with the pandemic.
