Suzuki Bolan shines, Alto loose sparkle as car sales pick up steam in August
- During August 2020, as many as 9,885 cars were sold against the sale of 9,126 units while the production of cars decreased from 10,636 units to 7,177 units, according to Pakistan automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA).
After a long dry spell, the sale of cars finally witnessed an increase of 8.13 percent however the production declined by 32.52pc during the month of August of the current financial year 2020-21 as compared to the corresponding period of the last year.
During August 2020, as many as 9,885 cars were sold against the sale of 9,126 units while the production of cars decreased from 10,636 units to 7,177 units, according to Pakistan automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA).
Among cars, the sale of Honda cars increased by 79pc from 1,106 units during August 2019, to 1,980 units during August 2020, while Suzuki Swift sale also grew by 19.5pc from 164 units to 196 units. The sale of Toyota Corolla went down from 1,727 units to 867 units, showing a decreased of 49.8pc, the data revealed.
Meanwhile, the sale of Suzuki Cultus increased from 1,289 units to 1,400 units, witnessing a rise of 8.6pc while the sale of Suzuki Wagon-R also witnessed an increase of 13.17pc from 645 units to 733 units during the month under review.
Furthermore, the sale of Suzuki Bolan, however, witnessed an increase of over 65 percent from 371 units to 615 units, on the other hand, the sale Suzuki Alto witnessed a sharp decline of 30.45 percent from 3,435 units during August 2019, against 2,389 units during August 2020.
